Corporal Raiche  Golpeado en Choque Causado por un Conductor Ebrio ~ Deputy Injured in Crash Caused by Drunk Driver  English Version

Un ayudante del Alguacil del condado de Okaloosa fué forzado de la carretera, State Road 85, al sur de Crestview a las 6 a.m. el domingo, cuando respondia a una llamada, por un conductor borracho que se dirigia hacia el norte en los carriles que iban hacia el sur.

El Corporal Mark Raiche viró para evitar chocar de frente con un SUV conducido por Scott Allen Brace de 33 años, de Crestview. El Corporal Raiche sufrió varios golpes cuando su vehiculo se salió del camino cerca del marcador de 22 millas y dió vuelta cuatro veces.  Fué llevado por helicóptero a Sacred Heart Hospital en Pensacola donde se encuentra en condición estable. Investigadores dicen que un hombre fué testigo que el SUV iba en la dirección equivocada y vió el accidente y logró el # de la licencia después que el hombre cruzó sobre el camellón a los carriles del norte y se metió enfrente de él.

Investigadores descubrieron que el # de la licencia pertenecia a Brace, quien está ahora acusado de manejar intoxicado,( DUI,) causar un accidente de tráfico con daños severos y abandonar el sitio de un accidente con daños.

Niveles de alcohol en la sangre de Brace tomados casi 4 horas después del accidente fueron .139 y .130.  El máximo limite legal es .08.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputy responding to a call was forced off State Road 85 south of Crestview around 6 a.m. Sunday morning by a drunk driver heading northbound in the southbound lanes.

Corporal Mark Raiche swerved to avoid a head-on collision with an SUV driven by 33-year old Scott Allen Brace of Crestview. Corporal Raiche suffered multiple injuries after his car left the roadway around the 22 mile marker and flipped four times. He was flown by medical helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he is currently in stable condition.

Investigators say a man who witnessed the SUV heading the wrong direction and saw the accident, was able to get the driver’s license tag number after the man crossed back over the median into the northbound lanes and got in front of him.  Investigators traced the tag number to Brace who is now charged with DUI, causing a traffic crash with serious injury, and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

Blood alcohol level levels taken from Brace nearly four hours after the accident were .139 and .130.  The maximum legal limit is .08.
