Apreciables Lectores y Partidarios,

Gracias una vez más por tomarse el tiempo para firmar nuestra Petición para poner fin a las Maquilas Y la Esclavitud en el campo!  En sólo 5 dias, el 28 de Abril, los trabajadores del campo de Immokalee y sus aliados estarán entregando miles de peticiones firmadas a las Oficinas Centrales de Burger King en Miami.

Durante los dos últimos meses, individuos y organizaciones han estado recolectando firmas en sus propias comunidades--desde niños de escuelas elementales en Denver hasta Senadores a la sombra del Capitolio--todo esto para mandar un poderoso mensaje a Burger King y al resto de la industria alimneticia, que es tiempo que ellos tomen responsabilidad por las pésimas condiciones de trabajo de los campesinos que cortan sus tomates.  Para una lista completa de las últimas noticias de la campaña de petición, visite www.ciw-online.org_2008Petitions/news.html

Mientras todos en Immokalee se preparan para el viaje a Miami todavia hay tiempo de recoger unas pocas firmas más! Dear Readers and Supporters,

Thank you once again for taking the time to sign our Petition to End Sweatshops and Slavery in the Fields!  In just over 5 days, on April 28th, Immokalee farmworkers and their allies will be delivering the tens of thousands of petition signatures to Burger King Headquarters in Miami.

 For the past two months, individuals and organizations have been collecting signatures in their own communities -- from elementary school children in Denver to U.S. senators in the shadow of the Capitol building -- all to send a powerful message to Burger King and the rest of the food industry that it's time for them to take responsibility for the abysmal working conditions of the farmworkers who pick their tomatoes.  For a complete listing of all the latest petition campaign news, visit www.ciw-online.org/2008_Petitions/news.html
