Nuevos Planes de La Sociedad  Hispánica de Acción  Bajo Nuevo Liderazgo ~ Hispanic Action Society Makes New Plans With New Leadership English Version

Recientemente, una nueva Junta Directiva fué electa por la Sociedad Hispánica de Acción (Hispanic Action Society) (HAS) de Pensacola.  Elba Calder-López es la nueva Presidenta de H.A.S., y tiene planes para incrementar la participación en la comunidad de la Costa del Golfo.  Las metas de H.A.S. incluyen preservar la cultura Hispánica y el idioma, acercar a la comunidad Hispánica y trabajar para el mejoramiento de los Hispanos Americanos por medio de educación,  empleo y derechos civiles.

Una forma en la cual Elba planea involucrar más  a la Comunidad Hispana es desarrollando una relación de trabajo con la Gulf Coast African-American Chamber of Commerce y su participación   con la futura Community Maritime Park Contractors Academy.  El proyecto Maritimo de la Comunidad promete traer muchos trabajos a la Costa del Golfo, de los cuales, un porcentaje es prometido a los dueños de  negocios minoritarios.

H.A.S. está planeando celebrar su quinceavo aniversario aqui en Pensacola con un baile para iniciar el mes del Patrimonio Hispánico .  Este evento para recaudar fondos se llevará a cabo el Sabado 13 de Septiembre en el American Legion Post 240 en West Pensacola.  Las entradas cuestan $10, y las puertas de abrirán a las 8 p.m. H.A.S en una organización sin fines de lucro y depende solamente de dinero recaudado a travez de donaciones para ayuda a la comunidad.  Por favor, llame (850) 791-6674 para mayor información.

Recently, a new Board of Directors was elected for the Hispanic Action Society (HAS) of Pensacola.  Elba Calder-Lopez is the new President of H.A.S., and has plans to increase Hispanic involvement in the Gulf Coast community.  Goals of H.A.S. include preserving the Hispanic culture and language, bringing the Hispanic community together, and working for the betterment of Hispanic Americans through education, employment, and civil rights.

One way Elba plans to involve the Hispanic community more is by developing a close working relationship with the Gulf Coast African-American Chamber of Commerce and its involvement with the future Community Maritime Park's Contractor's Academy.  The Community Maritime project promises to bring many jobs to the Gulf Coast, of which, a percentage is promised to minority-owned businesses.

H.A.S. is planning to celebrate its 15 year anniversary here in Pensacola by hosting a dance to kick off Hispanic Heritage month.  This fund-raising event will be held on Saturday, September 13 at the American Legion Post 240 in West Pensacola.  Tickets are $10, and doors will open at 8 PM.  H.A.S. is a Non -Profit organization, and depends solely on money raised through donations to support the community.  Please call (850) 791-6674 for more information.
