Noche de Galeria ~ Gallery Nights English Version El Consejo de Artes del Nor-Oeste de Florida presentará la segunda de cinco Noches de Galeria 2008 el 9 de Mayo de 5 p.m. a 9 p.m., la cual tendrá lugar en cuatro distintos distritos en las calles de Pensacola. Abarcando North Palafox, South Palafox, Belmont y Historic Pensacola, este evento gratis de la comunidad celebra la diversidad y alegria del Bay Area, vibrante escena de arte y vida nocturna. Explore galerias, organizaciones culturales, negocios y boutiques para una noche excitante de arte, música, actuaciones, bocadillos, y compras, (desde luego!) por artistas locales e internacionales. Noche de Galeria será producida por el Consejo de Artes del Nor-Oeste de Florida y será patrocinada por el Downtown Improvement Board, Downtown Arts Distric Association (DADA), Downtown Crowd, COX Media y Sandy Sansing BMW. Uno de los eventoa de Pensacola más anticipados y exitosas series anuales, Las Noches de Galeria empezaron en 1992 para destacar a los artistas locales y al mismo tiempo fomentar el patrocinio de los negocios y vida nocturna. Ahora ha crecido a incluir más de 35 paricipantes en cuatro distritos, North palafox, South Palafox, Belmont y Historic Pensacola, presentando eventos culturales en vivo o eventos artìsticos que atraen más de 5,000 clientes. Deje su automóvil en uno de los espacios de estacionamientos gratis en el garage de Baylen Street en Government Street o en el lote de estacionamiento de Baylen Street en la calle Romana y tome un TroleBus de Noche de Galeria a cualquiera o a todos los distritos. Dos trolebuses circularán con paradas directamente enfrente o muy cerca de cada participante, asi que escuche por el ding-ding del trolebus y súbase. Ilumine su noche con la Noche de Galeria 2008. Paul Hernández, el artista de relieve, muestra su trabajo mientras los participantes disfrutarán de vino y bocadillos. Venga a ayudarnos a hacer nuestra noche de galeria todo un éxito. James Amerson, artista pop y fotógrafo tendrá sus colecciones del Saenger Theater, Costa Rica y diseños gráficos de lugares famosos de Pensacola. Una porción de las ganancias será para la campaña de los Amigos del Saenger. Deténgase y disfrute del ambiente de The Global Grill con una bebida y tapas especiales. Este es el mejor lugar donde disfrutar de jazz vivo y varios artistas locales de relieve. El Museo de Arte de Pensacola (PMA) se complace en anunciar “Enfrentando Abstracción´Refigurando el Cuerpo en el Siglo Veinte” en exhibición en Lewis Bear Family Galleries, el Viernes 2 de Mayo, 2008 al Sabado, Julio 12 , 2008. “Facing Abstraction, Refiguring the Body in the Twentieth Century” presenta trabajos de famosos artistas mundiales tales como Picasso, Mark Rothko, Amedeo Modigliani y Alexander Calder. Esta fantástica exhibición se concentra en las maniobras de los artistas al rededor de la abstracción y figuración considerando su arte junto con sus escritos. Demostraciones profesionales de danza por el talentoso elenco de Rhythms de Pensacola Dance Company, Venga a ver lo que este nuevo negocio tiene que ofrecer en instrucción de baile. Desde Baile de Salón, Latino, Valses Vieneses, Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Salsa y varias estilos de swing! ~ The Arts Council of Northwest Florida will present the second of five 2008 Gallery Nights on May 9 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. to take place in four distinct districts on the streets of Pensacola. Encompassing North Palafox, South Palafox, Belmont and Historic Pensacola, this free community event celebrates the diversity and joy of the Bay Area’s lively arts scene and nightlife. Explore galleries, cultural organizations, businesses and boutiques for an evening of exciting art, music, performances, food, and shopping (of course!) by local and international artists. Gallery Night will be produced by the Arts Council of Northwest Florida and will be sponsored by the Downtown Improvement Board, Downtown Arts District Association (DADA), Downtown Crowd, COX Media, and Sandy Sansing BMW.One of Pensacola’s most highly anticipated and successful annual event series, Gallery Nights began in 1992 to highlight local artists while encouraging patronage of businesses and nightlife. Two trolleys will be circulating with stops directly in front of or very close to each participant, so listen for the ding-ding of the trolley and hop on. Brighten your evening at a 2008 Gallery Night. Featured exhibit artist, Paul Hernandez displays artwork while participants will enjoy wine and food tasting. Come help us make our gallery night a success. James Amerson, pop artist and photographer will have his featured collections of the Saegner Theatre, Costa Rica and graphic designs of Pensacola landmarks. A portion of the proceeds go to the Friends of the Saegner campaign. Stop by and enjoy the atmosphere of The Global Grill with drink and tapas specials. This is the hot spot to be with live jazz and several featured local artists. The Pensacola Museum of Art (PMA) is pleased to announce “Facing Abstraction: Refiguring the Body in the Twentieth Century” on view in the Lewis Bear Family Galleries Friday, May 2, 2008 through Saturday, July 12, 2008. “Facing Abstraction: Refiguring the Body in the Twentieth Century” presents work by world famous artists such as Picasso, Mark Rothko, Amedeo Modigliani and Alexander Calder. This stunning exhibition focuses on artists’ maneuvers around abstraction and figuration by considering their art alongside their writings. Professional dance demonstrations by the talented staff of Rhythms of Pensacola Dance Company. Come in and see what this new business has to offer in dance instruction. Everything from all Ballroom, Latin, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Salsa, and various forms of swing!
