El Condado de Escambia Anuncia Nuevo Horario Escolar ~ New School Hours Announced for 2008-2009 in Escambia County  English Version

El Superintendente, Jim Paul, informó al Consejo Escolar del Condado de Escambia de las nuevas horas de operación de las escuelas del distrito para el año académico 2008-2009.

Con pocas excepciones las horas serán las siguientes:

Escuela Primaria:  7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Escuela Superior:  8:30 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.

EscuelaIntermedia:  9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Une de los beneficios del nuevo horario es un aumento de 30 minutos en instrucción diaria en las escuelas elementales-- el equivalente de dos semanas adicionales de tiempo de instrución en el año escolar.  De interés fiscal, el nuevo horario permitirá al distrito operar aproximadamente 30 buses menos con un ahorro en exceso de $1 millón al año.

Superintendent Jim Paul informed the School Board of Escambia County of new hours of operation for district schools for the 2008-2009 academic year.

With few exceptions, the hours will be as follows:

Elementary School:  7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

High School:  8:30 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.

Middle School:  9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

One of the benefits of the new schedule is an increase of thirty minutes in daily instructional time in elementary schools-the equivalent of two additional weeks of instructional time throughout the school year. Of fiscal interest, the new schedule will allow the district to operate approximately 30 fewer buses for a savings in excess of $1 million annually.
