Premio de la Asociación Cubano-Ámericana (ACCP) para Estudiantes de Escuela Media y Superior (High School y College) ~ The Cuban-American Association of Pensacola CAAP Prize for High School and College Students English Version

La Asociación Cubano-Americana de Pensacola (CAAP) se complace en anunciar que otorgará dos premios, uno de $500 y otro de $300 a los diseñadores de los mejores trabajos de arte visual que en alguna forma creativa depicten algún aspecto de la odisea Cubana-Americana.

En el 2008, el premio de la CAAP quiere promover uno de los propósitos de la orgnización,    “preservar y transmitir el conocimiento de ls odisea Cubana-Americana.

El concurso está abierto a todos los estudiantes de tercer y cuarto año de escuela media (Juniors y Seniors de High School) y a los estudiantes de primer y segundo año de secundaria (freshman and sophomores de college) Futuros candidatos deben de familiarizarse con los objetivos de CAAP, as descritos en su reglamento (disponible en www.geocities.com/caapflsusa/bylaws.htm), y la experiencia colectiva de miles de Cubanos que han abandonado la Isla desde 1959 en busca de libertad polìtica y oportunidad económica.  Todas las submisiones que califiquen serán evaluadas de acuerdo a la exactitud histórica y mérito artìstico.

Submiciones calificadas pueden ser en cualquier forma de arte visual, incluyendo pero no limitando a collages de fotos,carteles, pinturas, acuarelas o esculturas.  El concurso se cierra el Lunes, Mayo 12 a las 4 p.m. Todas las obras deben de ser entregadas a la Sra. Zeida Ward, Presidenta de CAAP a la siguiente dirección: CAAP President Zeida Ward, Professor of Spanish, Pensacola Junior College, History/Languages/Philosophy, 1000 College Blvd., Pensacola, Fl. 32504.

Todas las submiciones deben de ser acompañadas por la confirmación de parte del estudiante que el trabajo sometido es su propia creación.  Ningún miembro de la familia (hijos o nietos, sobrinos-as, nietos-as de un hermano-a)del comité organizador, los jueces, o la Junta Directiva de CAAp es elegible a recibir el premio de CAAP.

The Cuban-American Association of Pensacola (CAAP) is happy to announce that  it will award two prizes, one of $500 and another of $300, to the designers  of the best works of visual art that in some creative way depict some aspect  of the Cuban-American odyssey.

In 2008, the CAAP prize seeks to promote one of the purposes of the  organization, to wit:  “preserving and transmitting knowledge of the Cuban-American odyssey.”  

The contest is open to all high school juniors and seniors, and college  freshmen and sophomores.  Prospective entrants need to familiarize  themselves with the purposes of CAAP, as described in its bylaws (available  at www.geocities.com/caapflausa/bylaws.htm), and the collective  experience of hundreds of thousands of Cubans who have left the Island since  1959 in search of political freedom and economic opportunity.  All  qualifying entries will be evaluated according to historical accuracy and  artistic merit. 

Qualifying entries may be in any visual art form, including but not limited  to collages of photos, posters, paintings, watercolors, or sculptures.  The  deadline for submission is Monday, May 12th, at 4:00 p.m.  All entries are  to be delivered to Mrs. Zeida Ward, CAAP President at the following address:  CAAP President Zeida Ward, Professor of Spanish, Pensacola Junior College,  History/Languages/Philosophy, 1000 College Blvd., Pensacola, FL  32504.

All entries need to be accompanied by an affirmation on the part of the  student that the work submitted is his or her creation. No member of the  family (children or grandchildren, nephews, nieces, or grand nephews or  grand nieces) of the organizing committee, the panel of judges, or the CAAP  Board of Directors is eligible to receive the CAAP Prize.
