Club de Salsa Trae “Puro Sabor” al Campus

“ Una probada es todo lo que tomaría”, es el picante lema de Pura Sabrosura, el club de salsa en la Universidad de West Florida.
     Pura Sabrosura se reúne los jueves a las 7 p.m. en el Green Room Studio (UWF) en el Centro de Salud, Deportes y Diversión. El club ofrece clases de salsa gratis para todo estudiantes y facultad de UWF y no estudiantes pueden atender como visita y pagarían el costo del uso del gimnasio, $5.
     “Hacemos presentaciones hacemos presentaciones en el campus y fuera de Pensacola.” Dice el Presidente del club Pura Sabrosura Nelson Sierra. “También hacemos eventos y fiestas. La primera será el 10 de septiembre en el Argo Galley durante la noche.
     Sierra dice que la cosa favorita de ensenar clases de salsa con Pura Sabrosura es “ver a todos enamorarse con el baile.” El también dice haber aprendido a bailar salsa a través de Pura Sabrosura y ha estado bailando y haciendo presentaciones desde un año y medio.
     Pura Sabrosura fue creada en noviembre del 2009 y se convirtió en un club oficial de UWF en septiembre del 2010. La clase esta disponible para todos los niveles de destrezas y ensenan varios y distintas técnicas de salsa cada lección.
     Clarence “Crombie” Abercrombie fue el fundador del club y dice que le encanta “ver las caras nuevas “cada semana en las clases y que el club le ensena a los estudiantes “como bailar socialmente  así pueden salir y disfrutar. “ Abercrombie se graduó de UWF con una licenciatura en Ingeniería Tecnológica y esta en la Fuerza Aérea, pero aun es miembro del club.
     Toni Aguilar, estudiante de UWF es miembro original del grupo y dice que ella adora que el grupo siempre tiene “algo que esta ocurriendo” y siempre esta lleno de “personas estupendas.”
     Aguilar dice que el lema del club “ Una probada es todo lo que tomaría”, es para que los estudiantes pensando en atender una clase se “animen” a tratar. Ella agrega que el club regularmente celebra Navidad y Halloween con fiestas y varios otros eventos sociales a través del año.

Salsa Dance Club Brings “Pure Flavor” to Campus

     “One taste is all it takes” is the spicy slogan for Pura Sabrosura, the University of West Florida salsa club.         
     Pura Sabrosura meets Thursday nights at 7 p.m. in the [UWF] Green Room Studio in the Health, Sports, and Leisure Facility. The club offers free salsa dance lessons to all UWF students and faculty, and non-students may attend as guests of UWF students with a $5 gym fee.
     “We do performances on campus and outside of Pensacola,” Pura Sabrosura’s club president Nelson E. Sierra said. “We also do events and socials. Our first one will be Sept. 10th in the Argo Galley in the evening.”
     Sierra said that his favorite thing about teaching salsa in Pura Sabrosura is “seeing everyone else fall in love with it.” He also said that he learned how to salsa through Pura Sabrosura and has now been dancing and performing for approximately a year and a half.
     Pura Sabrosura, which is Spanish for “Pure Flavor,” was created in November 2009 and officially became a UWF club in September 2010. The class is available to all skill levels and teaches several different salsa techniques per lesson.
     Clarence “Crombie” Abercrombie, the founder of the club, said he loves “seeing all the new faces” each week in the class, and that the club teaches students “how to socially dance, so they can go out and have a good time.”Abercrombie graduated from UWF with a degree in engineering technology and is currently in the Air Force, but is still an active member of the club.
     Toni Aguilar, a UWF student and an original member of the group, said she loves that the club always has “something going on” and is always filled with “great people.”
     Aguilar said that the club’s slogan is “One taste is all it takes,” so students thinking about attending a class should “just try it.” She added that the club regularly celebrates Christmas and Halloween parties and other various social events throughout the year.
